Disney

I have never really known a life without Disney and can’t imagine life without it! My first visit to a Disney theme park was at the age of six when my parents surprised us with a trip all the way across the country from Utah to Florida! That was when Walt Disney World consisted of just Magic Kingdom and the classic Epcot Center! I honestly don’t remember much about that first visit but I do have more vivid memories from our second family trip in 1989. Disney’s MGM Studios Theme Park had just opened and I think Mickey’s Birthdayland might have still been in place. We were also there for the Fourth of July when New Kids on the Block performed in front of the castle!! If you think you’ve been to the park on a busy day, nothing compares to that day! It was a madhouse! I was pretty much hooked by the end of the trip.
We finally went to Disneyland for the first time a year later and then there was a day that changed everything and took my enjoyment of Disney to a whole new level. I was curious to see if there were any books about Disney, so I went to the library and found a whole slew of them! I hated reading, but I read every one of them and the rest is history! I was completely obsessed with Disney from that day forward! Of course this was during the renaissance of Disney animation which I watched on repeat but the parks were what I loved the most.
Years later, it came as no surprise to my family and friends when I packed my bags and moved to Florida. Disney is where I was meant to be! I envisioned working my entire career for the mouse, which didn’t quite work out how I wanted it to. But I moved on from being a Cast Member to just a fan. It’s a good thing the love of my life, Laura, loves Disney too. It just wouldn’t have worked out if she didn’t!! We have no shame in calling ourselves Disney Adults! Disney is practically in our backyard and we wouldn’t have it any other way!!

Disney Blog Posts:
I have no intention of writing about every visit to the parks here in Florida, but I will write whenever I have something new to share. This will include my reviews of new rides, entertainment, festivals, food and more! Laura and I tend to incorporate Disney in our travels too so you can expect to see more as we set sail on all the ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and when we visit other Disney Parks around the globe! Oh and then there’s that little running series called RunDisney so stay tuned for more on that too!

Did Disney Soar or Did They Coast? Annual Passholder Previews for Two More Rides!
In Part One, Laura and I checked out the recent updates to Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which were both really well done refurbishments but didn’t have major changes. Just before heading off to Disneyland, we were able to attend Annual Passholder previews for Soarin’ Across America and Rock ‘n’…

So Many New Rides!! But Are They Really New?!
I am loving all these new Disney rides that are finally opening, or more specifically, REopening!! We all have our favorite attractions and can be resistant to change. Disney usually gets it right, but the anticipation can sometimes drive me crazy! Let’s actually look back a little further to April for the first of four…
